Rain Dancer

<No pictures, sorry!>

4217 University Way NE, Seattle, WA

This was the first time the band played at the Rain Dancer.  It is a really nice place.  It is a restaurant and bar by day and a bar/night club by night.  The band ate there before the show and the food and service was great!

Steel player:  Diver Dan had already been scheduled to play with one of his many other bands that night.  Tommy Hollywood was unavailable.  Mr. Shredd found a new steel player and he was going to play at this show, but at the last minute, he got stuck out of town on a business trip!  So, no steel guitar player!  That meant that Mr. Shredd had to work extra hard to fill in those steel guitar solos on his own guitar, but the band pulled it off.

Start time:  Mr. Shredd had been told by the club that the Shredd band would be "headlining."  That usually means that they play last, which means going on around midnight.  But when we arrived at the club, we were told we would be going on second, from 10:30 to 11:45 p.m.  That meant that everybody had to get on their cell phones and call as many people as they could to let them know that they needed to get there earlier if they wanted see our band.  Some folks didn't make it.  Some arrived as the band was finishing or even later.  (Our neighbor, The Beast, arrived part way through the show after having attended the opera!)

Because it was Halloween weekend, we expected the crowd to be light, but we had a decent turnout.  Thank you to all the fans who had other fun parties that they could have gone to, but came to our show instead!

T-Shirt Contest:  We had the unveiling of the new T-Shirt design and the rewarding of the designer.  We were looking for a design that would look good on black as well as other  colors.  Rev. Blacky came up with a nice one.  He was presented with a really cool dragon skull and, of course, he will get one of the T-Shirts when they are ready.  Nice job, Blacky!

Other bands: Adrian's Paradigm warmed up the audience and M-Set had a hard act to follow playing last!
